A six-month structured service experience grounded in training, witness, and action.
Phase One: The Training Academy (Months 1–2)
All participants complete this phase, regardless of which track they choose. Training covers:
- Trauma-Informed Communication — How to interview survivors without causing additional harm. How to listen in a way that heals.
- Legal Documentation Basics — How testimony is used in asylum hearings and war crimes tribunals, and how to archive evidence ethically using platforms like ParentsPlea.com.
- Refugee Resource Navigation — Understanding government aid, UNHCR protocols, and NGO systems so you can connect families to real help.
- Language & Cultural Bridging — Workshops on cross-cultural communication and foundational language skills for the communities you will serve.
- Self-Care & Vicarious Trauma Preparation — Recognizing the emotional weight of this work, and how to carry it without breaking.
Phase Two: Field Deployment (Months 3–6)
Local Service Track — Starting September 2026
You remain in your home country and are matched with refugee families or war-affected communities in your region. Your work may include:
- Helping families apply for asylum or government benefits
- Assisting with language translation and medical appointment navigation
- Documenting stories for legal advocacy or public education
- Connecting families to community support and fundraising resources
- Building relationships that reduce isolation and foster community
International Track — Launch Expected January 2027
You travel to a former war zone currently deemed safe by international travel advisories. Locations change based on global conditions. Working alongside local partner organizations, your activities may include:
- Documenting the impact of war on civilian infrastructure and daily life
- Interviewing survivors and family members for legal and historical archives
- Assisting with community-led rebuilding efforts
- Connecting local organizations to international resources and networks

Upon Completion
Graduates receive the ConflictTour Certification in Humanitarian Witness — verifying training in trauma-informed communication, refugee advocacy, and ethical documentation. This credential is recognized by universities, employers, and humanitarian organizations.
More importantly, you carry the lived experience of having stood beside people in their hardest moments.
